Plans for 1.1

We should try to get a rough sense of what we're going to try to get into Konversation 1.1 and especially who is going to work on what.

  • A first-run wizard allowing setup of an identity and the server list
  • Improved highlighting mechanics (see #120338)
  • Color schemes
  • Extend the tab completion to work in queries and cover channel names (see my page for some details)
  • Extend the tab completion to cover commands
  • Timed auto-away with optional automatic return on any chat activity
  • A facility to save splitter positions per channel
  • Refactor: The away system code is a mess and needs to be rewritten from scratch
  • Refactor: The way we instantiate connections to single servers vs. server groups is messy; group support was clearly bolted on
  • Clean up the repository directory layout, bring it in line with the likes of Kate or Kicker
