Release Schedule for 1.0

At this time, the Konversation 1.0 release has been executed as scheduled below. A schedule for Konversation 1.1 is pending.

This page holds upcoming dates on the road to the next release, which is going to be Konversation 1.0.

August 16th, 2006: Feature Freeze

No new features may be merged. Only bugfixes are allowed.


August 20th, 2006: Message Freeze

Internationalized strings may no longer be changed. The KDE i18n team is to be notified of the impending release.


August 28th, 2006: Wrap up for release

The release materials (announcement, beautified changelog) are brought in order. A snapshot including translations is put in a release candidate tarball and distributed to testers.


August 31st, 2006: Release 1.0

Bar any unforseen blockers, release Konversation 1.0. This puts us a week before the scheduled Kubuntu Edgy feature freeze, giving them time to package.


Release checklist:

  • Bump version and build number.
  • Throw out all translations below 85% completion for the release tarball. Note: This will likely mean losing several translations compared to 0.19.
  • Add new version to the bugs.kde.org product.
  • Update Berlios, which hosts our tarballs.
  • Update the Konversation website. Make new screenshots.
  • Update the KDE Extragear website for Konversation.
  • Update Freshmeat.
  • Update KDE-Apps.
  • Update SourceForge.
  • Update Heise Software-Verzeichnis.
  • Party.
